The Bournville Clarinet Choir is a community music project founded by Nigel Wood. It is a fabulous opportunity for local players aged 16 or over and of grade 8+ (ABRSM/TRINITY) or equivalent standard of playing, to meet and play together on a fortnightly basis at a local venue.
The friendly sessions include rehearsals and workshops which help to hone and develop the necessary musical skills for public performance. The choir is a recipient of a Vision Award from Bournville Village Trust which allowed for partial funding of this project. The project creates a welcoming environment while bringing clarinetists together who aspire to a high level of performance, technical knowledge and ensemble playing.
In 2017 the choir performed 2 large concerts and 4 smaller appearances. Applications are accepted for the current season. We are particularly keen to hear from players who own the more extreme instruments. E.g. Alto, Bass, Contra Bass clarinets.
