Bournville Clarinet Choir
was founded by Nigel Wood in 2015, originally as a one year community music project funded by a Vision Award from Bournville Village Trust. The choir has become a well-established music ensemble with a membership of around twenty players from Birmingham and further afield.  They rehearse fortnightly (in term time), give several concerts locally throughout the year and hold occasional workshops.  Although the line-up of instruments is fairly standard (from the tiny Eb clarinet down to the impressive Contrabass), the choir’s repertoire is unique and challenging, spans the centuries and includes a myriad of genres.  Their musical director customises the music to suit the players’ talents, and programming blends a mixture of original compositions and arrangements alongside standard repertoire.
